Transport yourself to the "Abode of the Clouds" in Shillong, Meghalaya, with Aunty Heather's Cloud Tea - Second Flush. a delightfully exquisite and rare Second Flush black tea from India's LaKyrsiew.

A bright, delicate and floral black tea processed similarly to Darjeeling first flush teas, its leaves almost green in colour giving a light golden liquor. Opening with the aroma and taste of spring flowers and light spice, it progresses with a smooth, bright acidity into a balanced, if slightly drying finish.

Produced as a micro-batch from the AV2 cultivar famed for its use in Darjeeling teas, this tea reflects the dedication of the artisans behind it under the guidance of renowned Indian tea expert, Mr Nalin Modha, offering a unique taste experience with flavour aspects reminiscent of Darjeeling and Assam. If Darjeeling tea can be considered the Champagne of black tea, then LaKyrsiew's teas are the Dom Pérignon of black tea.

Since the very beginning it was important for us to feature LaKyrsiew's teas not only for their wonderful flavour and quality, but due to our mission in bringing a taste of home back to Northern Ireland for Aunty Heather whom we have named the teas after.

Heather, or Aunty Heather to Boris, one of the owners of LaKyrsiew, is a dear friend of the Cha Dodo family and hails from Shillong where she grew up on the Khasi lands. These days she lives up the road from us. Her brother Robert, or Bob, married into Boris' family and was one of the very people who first planted the tea bushes of LaKyrsiew all those years ago. The incredible tea that we drink from the estate today is in part thanks to him. It is also thanks to Heather that we first became familiar with LaKyrsiew's tea.

It is with gratitude that we have been able to bring the tea back to her with local availability and now we are excited to share such fine black tea with all of you. To us, this tea is more than just a drink but representing the story of how our families have come together.

Infusion Recommendations:
Our brewing recommendation follows the recommendations from Boris of LaKyrsiew.

This tea can
be infused at least three times, with each infusion bringing deeper layers of flavour, and passionate tea lovers may even find further complexity on each brew. Use hotter water for subsequent brews and adjust brewing time for desired strength.

Also excellent cold brewed overnight by either having 8-12g of tea in a 1 litre jug of water placed in the fridge over 8-12 hours, or by first brewing this quantity with hot water then allowing to cool first before refrigerating. Adjust quantity to taste.
