Tiny Temple Green is an award winning organically grown green tea produced and grown in Myanmar's highland Mogok region. Crafted in the Five Trees Estate and processed from a small factory specifically built for it, the tea is manually made and with utmost care both in terms of quality and sustainability. It won the prestigious Highly Commended award at The Leafies 2022.
Hand-plucked from lightly pruned organically grown tea trees, Tiny Temple Green leaves are more delicate and finer, although more time-consuming to make. By embracing this mode, with devotion to attuning with nature rather than quantity, there lies a green tea of great individuality and character. Leaves, having been plucked, are softly pan-heated to fix their zesty freshness, rolled on a small homemade roll using tiny rollers to gently draw out their flavour slowly, and sun-dried to complete.
The dry leaves have a warm, inviting aroma, with roasted seed and warm breakfast cereal notes. They release a pale yellow-orange liquid with subtle floral and citrus aromas and fragile hints of lychee, fruit compote, and young bamboo shoots.
In the mouth, Tiny Temple Green is light, crisp, and refreshing. The flavour is quietly divided - green and floral at first, then flowing out into a subtly fruity aftertaste. There is a soft astringency that cleanses and brightens the finish.
Dedicated to the small tree spirit temples found beneath the five banyan trees in the middle of the garden, this tea is representative of the Five Trees Estate's careful, meticulous craftsmanship. Tiny Temple Green is an instant reflection of its surroundings - vibrant, crisp, and alive.
Infusion Recommendations:
Our brewing recommendation follows the preferred guide from the Five Trees Estate.
This tea can be infused at least three times, with each infusion bringing deeper layers of flavour, and passionate tea lovers may even find further complexity on each brew. Use hotter water for subsequent brews and adjust brewing time for desired strength.
Also excellent cold brewed overnight by having 8-12g of tea in a 1 litre jug of water placed in the fridge over 15 hours. Adjust quantity to taste.
